It's about time...Atlanta will get their own Craft Beer Week.  San Diego has one, San Francisco has one, and yet, home to Sweetwater, 5 Seasons, the Brick Store, Atlanta has none.  But it all changes this year and I wish I could be there.  I haven't made it to a SF Beer Week yet - which I hear is fantastic - and I'm hoping to head down to San Diego's Beer Week this year.  But good on Atlanta for getting things going.  Hopefully we'll have a vibrant enough beer scene here in Orange County to have our own OC Beer Week because I'm not quite sold on the Orange County Beer Festival yet.

But, however the OC Beer Festival turns out, it's gotta be better than any Mexican Beer Festival as today's beer marks my second beer off the 'beers of Mexico' listing in 1001 Beers.  Bland and boring, this amber beer has no body and no taste.  Not like I really expected much, but something out of the ordinary or special about this beer would make it worthwhile.  Glad I just bought one.

My review, cross-posted at RateBeer.com:

Negra Modelo from Grupo Modelo (Corona)

Aroma: 5/10
Appearance: 3/5
Taste: 4/10
Palate: 2/5
Overall: 8/20

Rating: 2.2 / 5.0

Had from bottle. Pours amber with slight head. Aromas of malts, sugar, and caramel. Taste is bland, weak, watery. Malty with hints of roasted barley, slight nutty flavor. Carbonation is good, nothing special here. Move along.
